Your child’s progress and development is very important to us and you are free to visit the Pre-school whenever you wish and you can see for yourself how your child is getting on. Your child’s key worker will of course be monitoring his/her progress very closely by regular observations and systematic record keeping. Your child’s Observation Booklet is available at every session and you are free to look at it whenever you wish. Furthermore, regular meetings between parents and their child’s keyworker are offered to all parents, as this is undoubtedly your best opportunity to discuss your child’s progress.
We believe that it is very important for staff and parents to work together to help children feel confident and secure in the group. We recommend that you and your child visit the Pre-school several times in the weeks leading up to admission. Following admission, you are welcome to stay for part or all of the first few sessions, if your child finds this helpful. Should your child take longer to settle in, you will find the experienced staff most helpful in advising you of the best ways of helping a child to overcome this.
